Unlike many other Balkan countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) does not offer an unlimited choice of ruins, cute stone cottages or large sophisticated villas or spending sea sides. BiH has been decimated by wars over the course of history as well as a stranglehold by communism in the last century. This has left this wonderful almost virgin country with a void to fill. It is their intention to do this as quickly as possible as they try to catch up with everybody else. In the bigger towns and the city of Sarajevo and Mostar there is a huge amount of development of apartment buildings and to buy land in the centers is scarce. But due to the popularity of these apartments to purchase, by the Bosnians, there is still very much a shortage of supply due to demand. It is straightforward economics that dictates that the prices of these apartments have risen by around 20% a year over the last few years and will continue to rise as the development creeps into the suburbs which at present is only 10 minutes drive. We have a number of existing straightforward investment opportunities within BiH at present which represent both the short term "get in get out" policy or the longer term with rental yield. Land purchases should always be bought for the long term and more often than not come with government planning permission when sold through us.
